Inexpensive alternative for a Le Creuset dutch oven / $45 today only!
For those of us looking for a less expensive alternative to the Le Creuset cast iron dutch oven, the folks at sellout.woot.com are offering the Cuisinart CI670-30PC 7 Qt. Enameled Cast Iron Casserole with Lid for $39.99 plus $5.00 shipping & handling. This offer is good TODAY ONLY (Sept. 6, 2010) and the dutch oven is only available in blue at the time of this post (the red sold out).
Looks like a great alternative for those no knead breads that have become so popular. I haven't tried the Cuisinart pan, but at this price, it's worth a shot!
Happy Baking!
Sold out fast. Looked like a great deal.
Lodge (USA) makes an enameled cast iron dutch oven that is also reasonably priced. I've got a few Le Creuset pots and use to have mini cast iron casseroles by Technique. Those mini ones were not good quality but they were cute. I've got a 2 Lodge skillets and love 'em. I'm aiming to get the 7.5 qt Lodge enameled cast iron dutch oven.
I've had good use out of World Market"s enameled cast iron. Priced $50.00-$60.00.
I saw a red enameled cast iron dutch oven at Sams Club tonight for $5.00. 6.5 quart.
I really struggled with buying one, but I was afraid I would rarely use it.
At Sams Club, I just picked one up.
It is the members mark (store brand), 6.5 qts, with heat proof handle.
Red exterior with white interior.
