Quick SD sandwich loaves
Well, I've been pressed for time lately, but can't bring myself to buy too much store bread. So I whipped up a couple of SD sandwich loaves. I used a half cup of starter for each loaf plus a 1/2 tsp rapid yeast. The dough had good rise in a couple hours. I then divided and put in pans. Nice rise in the pans, but it fell some putting them into the oven. I misted 3 times in the 1st 10 mins and Now I can make toast and sandwiches once again. We had SD waffles this AM and I must say, they are always wonderful.
That was it for me today. Not pretty, but very tasty. Dave

That's a nice color on your crust and the crumb looks very good too. I have been out of bread and know how you felt about getting a couple of loaves for sandwiches and toast! Oh, yeah...you should have posted those waffels too..yumm!

Don't knock your loaves, Dave. They made not be your picture of perfection, but their at least twice as good as anything you can buy.
In the end, taste is the only thing that really matters.

Looks good to me!

I went through the same motions last weekend! A couple of easy white SD plus instant yeast loaves and a nice batch of SD waffles. Just couldn't bring myself to get the store-bought either!
