The Death of the Montreal Bagel.
Cousin Jay sent me this article about the death of the Montreal Bagel. Maybe we will have to import Canadian wood into NY and bake NY bagels in a WFO and sell them back into Montreal. The best of both worlds maybe?

Ah, DAB, you caught me in a nostalgic mood already. Sitting here listening to a Joni Mitchell album from the mid-70s and thinking about times of old. And then I launched into the Montreal bagel article, which could be a template for all kinds of things that have changed or disappeared over time, all in the name of progress. Followed that with the article on the history of the bagel and continued my plunge into the past. Many thanks (truly) for posting these links.
