Susan's Blueberry Sourdough Scones
Hello everyone,
I had some extra starter (wheat, rye, durum) ... and yesterday, saw Susan's post featuring lovely Blueberry Sourdough Scones.
Mixed some up last night and froze them; baked fresh this morning - Yum :^)
Thanks, Susan, for a delicious recipe and great way to use extra starter!
These scones are very tangy and tasty. Not too much sugar in the dough - a light sprinkle of cinnamon sugar over the top before baking tasted quite nice!
Happy baking everyone!

Since you specify "not too much sugar," I'm sure they must be low-calorie. And think of all those wonderful anti-oxidents in the blueberries! Obviously, very healthy!
Must make these!

David,
These really are so good (there are also oats for health - they should offset the butter, shouldn't they?!).
Thanks so much - I'm sure you'll love these scones.

Beautiful! And sure, very low in calories ;-)
Many thanks, Susan! :^)
These were wonderfully-good scones - what a good idea to mix them up and freeze overnight in a cake pan.
It was a great way to start the day, to pop these in the oven and then enjoy a fresh-baked, warm scone.
The scones were ready almost before the coffee was!

Very nice! If you didn't tell me they were blueberried my subconsious was turning them into choclate chips....not that blueberries are not tasty...:)
Hi Ian - thank you! - oats and blueberries, oats and chocolate chips, we'd love them either way.
The blueberry-oat combo did make for a lovely breakfast though. Love the taste of blueberries, but especially after they've had a little bit of heat.
