What I did with my frozen pizza dough today!
I hope I'm not the only one who does some strange experiments? Like useing frozen pizza dough for a pate fermentee!! I made french bread and another Daisy Ring yeasted coffee cake this time with Almond Paste filling. They both tasted very good, lots of pleasing flavors in the both the bread and the yeasted coffee cake!
I used JH Baguettes with Pate Fermentee / tweaking the recipe to use my pizza dough!
Next time I will need to make my Almond Paste filling a little more dryer. I made a sourcream sugar glaze.
Delicious yeasted coffee bread I make in an assortment of flavors. It's usually made as a straight dough recipe!
Lots of flavor in the tender crumb!

Baguette dough/Pâte fermentée/Pizza dough ... Multiple Personality Disorder. That's my diagnosis. If it didn't have salt, it could be a Biga, too!
Actually, I love the idea. I have some Sourdough dough in the freezer. It was put there for pizzas, but I now must consider additional possibilities.

You made me crack up, David...MPD!! The only thing is this batch did have a little E.V.O.O. but didn't take away from the crisp crust...the flavors were really great...could have been better if I would have remembered to add the White Wheat!!

There's another one on my blog came out of a very old bread book from Sunset...but this recipe was tweaked when I found the same Daisy Pattern on http://www.landolakes.com web site..the recipes a little different..especially with the addition of pizza dough ; )

You're killing me, Sylvia. You do it ALL! I love it. I just wrote a post asking for a good pizza dough recipe, and I mentioned that I had heard you say you kept dough balls in the freezer, so I won't request it again here. But, please, if you have time.........

Thank you, Syb! On the front page of TFL in the recipe list there is an excellent recipe from Peter Reinhart's excellent book..American Pie. It's listed under 'Pizza Primer' Floyd has it written out nicely and it's a very easy recipe. This is one of my favorite recipes for pizza and I use it often. You can freeze any pizza dough or keep it in the frig. 3 days is pretty much the longest you want to hold it.

Wow! that coffee cake made me really hungry....I would keep the almond paste moist.....almond paste can be delicate, or concentrated.....wow....I'll say it again...that coffee cake made me really hungry.....
Thank You, rainwater! This recipe had to be placed on my 14" pizza pan for baking. I froze some of it but it has already been pulled out of the freezer! What is nice about a cake like this is you can freeze it in smaller sections for those..really hungry cravings!
